Droidcon Italy 2016

On April 7th and 8th, I attended and spoke at Droidcon Italy 2016 in lovely Torino, Italy. For me Torino was both a first time in Italy and a first European Droidcon.

The content was fantastic with a few common threads running through different sessions. One of these threads was the role of the developer in UX. By far the best thing that I took home from Torino is an empowering feeling that developers and designers share equal and important roles in building UX.

Droidcon San Francisco 2016

At last week's Droidcon San Francisco, I gave my talk on "Loving Lean Layouts", watched other awesome sessions, participated in Speechless, and filmed a few interviews for Android Dialogs.

As well as enjoying high quality technical content, I had an amazing time meeting and hanging with other Android devs and designers. Y'all make my conference.

I am a Android Google Developer Expert

On March 2, 2016 the Google Experts Program accepted me as a Technology/Android expert. I feel incredibly grateful, excited, and lucky to now be a GDE. Throughout my Android life, I have relied on the contributions of GDEs to help me fix weird and nasty bugs, discover the new and sexy, learn good/best practices, and understand the inner workings of the framework.

I can only hope that I can help other devs even half as much as the GDEs have helped me.
